About Us
What we are:
We are the Northern California arm of the Vietnamese Alliance Youth (VAY) of the Vietnamese District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). If you understood what we just said in one reading, you’re smarter than most of us
What we do:
We train youth leaders to become disciple makers at the local church.
How we do it:
We plan regular “big events” for all youth in the region – events like rallies, outreaches and retreats. These “big events” serve two main purposes:
- Creating opportunities for young people to gather, to worship, and to be inspired by a larger community of youth who really love God.
- Creating opportunities for youth leaders from different churches to network, to be equipped for ministry, and to learn hands-on skills from vocational pastors and teachers.
The first purpose is accomplished in the actual big events themselves, which are usually planned on the even-months of the year. The second purpose is carried out in smaller training meetings that are planned during the odd-months. Look in this VAY Calendar to see what have been planned in the year of 2009. It may seem that all we do is planning events, but the main purpose is to build up young people and develop leaders for the Kingdom of God.
How you can help:
Developing leaders for the future generations is a daunting task that no one can do alone. You can definitely help by …
